Plant-Based NYE Resolution Saver
While still in the window of time where most people are still holding true to their New Year’s resolutions (according to Inc. Magazine, most people abandon their new “habits” by January 19), introduce yourself to the Skye Burger, especially if your resolution includes eating a more vegetarian or vegan diet this year, or you simply plan to observe Meatless Monday each week.
Skye Burger was a project where I helped to craft the web content and fully form the story of this whimsical brand and vegetarian burger. The owner and creator has a sweet soul and truly loves her work in the world, and I felt an instant connection to the brand because of its geographical presence.
Being from the Atlanta area and having grown up visiting the North Georgia Mountains throughout my childhood - think gorging yourself at The Dillard House and going on trail rides, staying in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere on the side of a mountain, visiting Tallulah Gorge State Park, and being threatened to be sent away to boarding school at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee when being assigned to detention in middle school - I instantly pictured the original cafe and it’s surroundings.
If you reside within the Atlanta area, there’s a large number of health and natural foods stores that carry the frozen, original Skye Burger, and as you travel out of the city up towards Appalachia, you’ll find retail locations in the greater Nashville area, North Carolina and even down into the beach towns of South Carolina. Residing in the Huntsville area, I’ll have to wait until I can travel to these locations or for Skye Burger to open their online store to indulge myself.
Be sure to check out The Original Skye Burger website and visit one of its retail partners to stick to your natural foods, vegetarian diet resolutions. An even bigger bonus? If your New Year’s Resolution included giving back more, for every box of Skye Burgers sold, the company donates one burger to a world hunger project! So it’s a two-for-one!
